At an FJC, government agencies and nonprofit organizations work together seamlessly to provide legal assistance, counseling, emergency shelter, and many other critical resources—all in one location. This model eliminates barriers, reduces trauma, and empowers survivors to rebuild their lives with dignity and confidence. By streamlining services, FJCs not only offer immediate safety but also create long-term solutions to break the cycle of violence.

The Vision of the Holding on to Hope, County of Monterey Family Justice Center is to create a future where our community has ended the cycle of violence, and to create a community that works together to ensure survivors of domestic violence, child abuse, sexual abuse, elder abuse and human trafficking have access to all the resources they need to heal, thrive, and feel empowered.

Mission

The Mission of Holding on to Hope, County of Monterey Family Justice Center is to provide one place for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, elder abuse, and human trafficking to receive services from governmental agencies and community-based organizations to aid in the breaking of generational violence. Family Justice Centers co-locate, coordinate, and integrate services where victims and their children travel to fewer places and reduce the number of times they tell their story. With a commitment towards healing, community, and safety, Family Justice Centers strive to integrate partners to create a comprehensive service network to alleviate or prevent future crimes of violence.
